AMENDMENT 0001
Question 1:
The specification states:
4. GOVERNMENT PROVIDED EQUIPMENT TO BE INSTALLED BY VENDOR (EACH BOAT):
Honda EU 3000 gas powered generator -
Dimensions: L 25 4/5” x W 18 9/10” x H 22 2/5” Weight 144 lbs.
Sea Mach rooftop air conditioner 855 D Series -
Dimensions: H 13.59” x W 26 1/8” x L 36” Weight 99 lbs.
Two (2) Mercury 300 HP Verado outboard motors
Two (2) control cables for Verado outboards
Two (2) stainless props for the 300 HP motors
All required gauges for the Verado outboard motors
Two (2) steering control cables for Verado motors
The accessories for the installation of the motors appears to be referencing older technology. (e.g. steering cables vs hydraulic, gauges vs Mercury Vessel View). Can you provide the year and model numbers of the motors as well as a detailed listing of the rigging items that will be provided for complete installation?
Answer 1:
The government will be purchasing new motors with the newer technology, Vessel View, all electric. They will be either 2017 or 2018 models. There will be no steering cables. The government won't purchase the motors until after it awards the bid for the boats, when it knows the proper shaft length to order.
Question 2a:
Boat length overall (LOA) is to be 27 - 29 feet (‘) with a beam of no more than 8.5’: The beam seems narrow for a RIB as the measurement is to the outside of the collar. Our RIBs of similar LOA have a beam of approximately 10’ 3”. Would you accept a wider beam?
Answer 2a:
The boat beam can be wider; the government would accept the 10'3" beam. The boat trailer needs to have a max width of 8.5'.
Question 2b:
If the wider beam would be acceptable, we’d like to ask for an extension to the submittal date for the proposal by one week.
Answer 2b:
The government is extending the announcement closing date by one week to May 26, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.
Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).
Question 3:
With regard to the applicable requirements of 46 CFR Sub Chapter T – Small Passenger Vessels, is the intent to have these boats receive a Certificate of Inspection from the US Coast Guard?
Answer 3:
While the boats should follow Subchapter T, the government does not require the boats to receive a
Certificate of Inspection from the US Coast Guard.
