PRE-SOLICITATION

USCGC KIMBALL (WMSL 756)

DRYDOCK REPAIRS FY23

The purpose of this notice is to provide a draft specification for 70Z08023KIMBALLDD.

Pursuant to FAR Part 5.205(c) and FAR 15.201, the purpose of this notice is to determine if there are any concerns regarding the potential acquisition strategy should a solicitation be produced as a result of this draft specification. .

REQUIREMENT: This notice is issued by the U.S. Coast Guard, Surface Forces

Logistics Center, and Norfolk, VA to identify concerns for potentially producing a solicitation for the following items:

DRYDOCK REPAIRS SPECIFICATION: (Subject to change at the discretion of the

Government). Contractor may be requested to provide all necessary facilities, materials, equipment, and personnel to perform DRYDOCK repairs to the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter

(USCGC) KIMBALL (WMSL 418). The vessel is home ported in HONOLULU, HI. All work will be performed at the contractor facility. All DD work for these cutters during

FY23-FY24 are restricted to a shipyard within a 50-mile commuting radius of the vessel’s’ homeport of Honolulu, HI as a necessary military consideration in order to maximize the operational readiness of the vessels to complete mission requirements and maintain crew proficiency standards.

SCOPE OF WORK: The scope of the acquisition is for the DRYDOCK repairs of the

USCGC KIMBALL (WMSL 418). This work may will include, but is not limited to the following Work Items:

ANTICIPATED PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: The period of performance is anticipated to be for (83) calendar days with a start date 07 December 2022 and end date of 01 March 2023. (Subject to change at the discretion of the Government)

NAICS Code is 336611, Ship Building and Repairing and the size standard is 1,250 employees.
