About this file

This attachment provides specifications for a cutting machine. The machine must be capable of chip-less wheel cutting of Inconel 600 omega seals with diameters between 10.805 and 10.350 inches. It splits into two assembly halves connected by alignment pins and bolts. Adjustable height positioning pins set the cutting location. A hybrid clamping system includes a precision collet and adjustable clamp legs. The machine has two tool slides moved by a captive star wheel feed screw. A consumable cutting wheel is housed on the slides behind a removable bearing cover. A pneumatic motor powers the cutting at 110 PSI and must be capable of achieving the necessary line speed for Inconel 600. The related solicitation will be sole sourced to EH Wachs in accordance with FAR Part 13.5 for simplified procedures for commercial items. No other manufacturer will be considered.
