Attachment A Statement of Work Title: Crucial Conversation Kits Introduction:
Having difficult conversations when employees disagree lies in how people behave when discussing topics about high-stakes, emotional issues. Employees in these high-stakes emotional conversations fail to realize how their responses, interactions, etc., affect all involved in the discussion. The critical point is having employees understand the issues of others and respond in a respectful and understanding manner. Additionally, employees must learn appropriate skills, techniques, etc., to effectively have these conversations respectfully to resolve the issue. Any conversations with high-stakes, emotional issues where employees do not have the necessary skills to respond respectfully and understand will have a severely limited ability to resolve the issue. Efforts to change behavior by training employees how to have these crucial conversations will assist in having everyone involved to have respectful conversations and ultimately resolve the issue.
Continuing the training during the fiscal year 2025 and beyond will broaden the impact of this training throughout VA North Texas.
