Specifications - Generator Sets & Switchgear

Technical Specifications Attachment

1. General Description of Needed Equipment: One 50KW Genset (unit 1) and one 30KW Genset (unit 2), with automatic transfer switches, for standby service. To qualify for consideration, quoted products shall meet or exceed the below minimum specifications. Package to be delivered to Glacier Bay National Park, Gustavus Alaska.

2. Equipment Salient Characteristics:

2.1. Standby Generator Unit 1:

2.1.1. Electrical supply shall be rated for three phase 60 HZ at 480/277V

2.1.2. Output Rating: 50EKW/ 63KVA

2.1.3. Fuel: Diesel, common rail

2.1.4. Meet NFPA 110 loading requirements

2.1.5. Alternator shall be Ul 2200 listed

2.1.6. Emissions rating shall be EPA Tier 3 or cleaner

2.1.7. Mechanical and electrical governing system

2.1.8. Conform to ISO 8528-5

2.1.9. NFPA battery charger UL10A 120VAC

2.1.10. UI listed breakers 100% rated 3-pole with solid neutral

2.1.11. Protective devices: Low coolant temperature alarm, low coolant level shutdown, low oil shutdown, ground fault relay, overload shutdown via breakers

2.1.12. Seismic vibration isolators

2.1.13. NFPA battery charger UL10A 120VAC

2.1.14. Manufacturers certified technicians located within 100 miles or 2 hrours travel time from delivery site

2.2. Standby Generator Unit 2:

2.2.1. Electrical supply shall be rated for three phase 60 HZ at 480/277V

2.2.2. Output Rating: 30EKW/ 37.5KVA

2.2.3. Fuel: Diesel, common rail

2.2.4. Meet NFPA 110 loading requirements

2.2.5. Alternator shall be Ul 2200 listed

2.2.6. Emissions rating shall be EPA Tier 3 or cleaner

2.2.7. Conform to ISO 8528-5

2.2.8. NFPA battery charger UL10A 120VAC

2.2.9. Ul listed breakers 100% rated 3-pole with solid neutral

2.2.10. Protective devices: Low coolant temperature alarm, low coolant level shutdown, low oil shutdown, ground fault relay, overload shutdown via breakers

2.2.11. Seismic vibration isolators

2.2.12. NFPA battery charger UL10A 120VAC

2.2.13. Integral fuel tank for 24hr. run time

2.2.14. Manufacturers certified technicians located within 100 miles or 2 hours travel time from delivery site

2.3. Enclosures:

2.3.1. Sound attenuated; level 2, 72 dba maximum

2.3.2. Panel viewing window

2.3.3. Powder coated galvanized steel

2.3.4. Single piece main roof

2.3.5. Lockable doors

2.3.6. Exterior mounted emergency stop

2.3.7. White

2.4. Transfer switches 1 each:

2.4.1. 400A, 3 phase, Manual MCCB style, NEMA 4x

2.4.2. 225A, 3 phase, Manual MCCB style, NEMA 4x

2.4.3. Both switches to be UL 1008 Service Entrance rated

3. Manuals: Two copies each of operator’s, service, and parts manuals for Genset as well as enclosure attachment shall be shipped to the delivery address at the time of purchase. CD or paper are acceptable.

4. Warranty:

Manufacturer’s full coverage on engine and emission system shall be no less than five years or 2500 hours. Both Units to be factory tested to design specifications at full load conditions and all protective devices and control functions simulated and checked. All warranties to be performed by manufacturers certified technician using OEM parts. Manufacturers certified technician to be located no more than 100 miles or 2 hours travel time for emergency services.

5. Shipping and Delivery:

Entire package shall be prepped for barge or overland shipment. Complete FOB shipping address shall be to: The National Park Service, Glacier Bay National Park, 1 Park Road, Gustavus AK 99826.
