QUESTIONS and ANSWERS

RFQ 140P9722Q0094 – Back-up Gensets

Q1: What is the amp rating for each of the standby generators?

A1: The amp rating on generator unit 1 shall be 400A minimum, the amp rating on generator unit 2 shall be 225 minimum.

Q2: Would export packaging be required for quoting for these units along with the freight quote?

(export packaging provides extra protection for OCONUS deliveries).

A2: NPS will not inspect or accept the generators until they arrive at the delivery address provided in the technical specifications. It is the vendor’s responsibility to make sure the generators arrive at the delivery address free from damage or defect.

Q3: Would ATSs need to be closed, open/programmed, or standard transition?

A3: Please see the technical specifications section 2.4, Switchgear to be manual, not automatic.

Q4: How many poles/wires on the ATS units? Solid, overlapping, or switched neutral?

A4: 3 pole overlapping with overlapping neutral contact rated the same as power contacts. See technical specifications 2.4

Q5: Gensets are requested to be tested at full load conditions. How long would the load test be required, as in load bank test at full load to last? Would one-hour increments be sufficient?

A5: Yes, load bank tested at full load to last with one-hour increments is sufficient.

Q6: A viewing window that is requested on some sound enclosures would compromise the sound attenuation. Can this specification be removed or is viewing window ok even if affects sound deadening?

A6: Viewing window requirement will remain. Revision to dba is increased from initial 72 to now 85.

Q7: How about fuel tanks? Integrated, additional adjacent?

A7: Unit one - none to be provided. Unit 2 - Please see the technical specifications section 2.2.13
