Cyclic Structural Fire System Repairs

Scope of Work
General:
National Park Service (NPS), Rocky Mountain National Park: Cyclic Structural Fire System Repairs
Location:
Sites vary, Estes Park, CO 80517
Project Overview and Description of Work:
This project follows up an annual inspection to all structural fire systems on the east side of Rocky Mountain National Park. There are corrective or recurring actions needed throughout.

All work takes place within a 12 mile radius of Estes Park, CO, with the exception of Trail Ridge Store which takes approximately 45 minutes to reach from Estes Park, CO.
Verification of Existing Conditions:
Prior to preparing bid, contractor is responsible for verifying existing conditions, alert project manager of any conflicts with scope of work.
Submittals:
Submit manufacturer’s information for all products to be used during this project. Electronic submittals are acceptable.
Contract Line Items:
CLIN #1 Base bid item – Cyclic Structural Fire System Repairs
Contractor’s Use of Premises:
The normal hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.
All activities affecting NPS operations and/or visitor and staff safety must be arranged with NPS
COR.
Project will take place during normal business hours; exceptions may be authorized in order to better meet the project goals and incur fewer closures.
Occupant access must be maintained throughout the construction process. Phase work as to ensure that paths used for resident’s thoroughfare are not impeded.
Period of Performance:
Performance shall be completed within 120 calendar days after Notice to Proceed.
Quality Assurance:
All workmanship shall be done in a professional manner, in accordance with industry and historic preservation standards.
Compliance checks will be made by the COR or his authorized representative to insure:
a) Correct location of work
b) Correct products being replaced/inspected
Specific code requirements include, but are not limited to:
• NEC – NFPA 70
Specific NPS policy requirements include, but are not limited to:
Secretary of the Interiors Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties (https://www.nps.gov/tps/standards/four-treatments/treatment-guidelines.pdf)
Special Conditions:
The contractor shall keep the project area neat, orderly, and in safe conditions at all times. The contractor is responsible for using barriers to protect and separate the public and employees from the work area. Moveable barriers may be necessary to prevent unauthorized use of the work area.
Inspection:
1. The government may inspect materials and workmanship during installation.
• Rejected materials and workmanship will be corrected by the contractor as soon as possible.
2. The contractor shall furnish Product Data Sheets showing Specification Conformance.
3. The Contractor shall be responsible for inspection of his/her work to ensure that the services required under this purchase order are performed in accordance with the requirements of these specifications. The Contractor shall provide supervision at all times over the work which his/her employees are performing to assure complete and satisfactory performance.
Acceptance:
Acceptance check list will include:
• Completion of all work as described in SOW
• Workmanship
• Site Cleanliness
