2. Comparison of proposed prices with the Independent Government Cost Estimate
(IGCE).
(4) Market Research (indicate if any other firms were contacted or expressed interest)
In accordance with FAR Part 10, market research was conducted for this acquisition and it was determined the APQC is the only product that meets DFAS- Indianapolis requirements. The other 10 companies identified market research revealed while some features were included, no company was able to provide every required feature to meet DFAS’ needs.
(5) Any Other Supporting Facts:
There is nothing additional which has not already been stated throughout this document.
(6) Statement of the Actions, if any, the Agency May Take to Remove or Overcome any
Barriers that Led to the Restricted Consideration Before any Subsequent Acquisition for the Supplies or Services is Made:
Due to only one responsible source being able to satisfy the agency’s requirements, there is no feasible alternative to remove barriers to competition at this time. Market rearch will continue to be conducted to determine if changes occur in the market place that would enable actions to be competed to the maximum extent possible.
