About this file
This document is a PowerPoint training presentation for Internal Accounts procedures, created for the Polk County School Board in 2013. The presentation provides comprehensive guidance on financial management practices for school internal accounts, covering topics such as account classifications, documentation requirements, revenue sources, expenditure processes, and administrative policies. Key sections include detailed instructions on handling collections, processing ticket sales, managing fundraisers, maintaining proper documentation, using procurement cards, and following specific internal accounting policies.
The training material outlines specific procedural requirements for school financial staff, including rules for deposits, sales tax, change funds, transfers between accounts, and oversight of outside organizations like booster clubs. The presentation emphasizes strict compliance with Internal Accounts (I.A.) Policy guidelines, with specific focus on preventing deficit accounts, properly documenting transactions, safeguarding funds, and maintaining transparency in financial operations. The training is designed to ensure consistent, accurate, and legally compliant financial management across Polk County school internal accounts, with multiple contact points provided for internal accounts and audit staff to support implementation of these procedures.
