5/29/25 Salient Characteristics EER 259605 Sonosite LX (Ultrasound)

· Must be a reliable product known to Veterans Affairs. Current ultrasound machines are not a new product to VA Loma Linda, and we have proven quality for the past several years with the current Sonosite PX ultrasound machine. Must be compatible with existing equipment at the VA Loma Linda .The Sonosite LX Ultrasound System must have large enough screen to visualize clear image of structures, and be durable to withstand the bumps, knocks, and potential splash of bodily fluids that can occur in the clinical environment. The screen should have no knobs, dials, or buttons that can be easily damaged. Must have smooth wipeable surface for infection control. Must have expansive touchscreen display that allows for rotation.

The Ultrasound meets this requirement with a touchscreen 19x15 inches, no buttons or dials that can be damaged, clogged, or corroded with fluids. Surface is smooth with a “clean screen” mode and can be cleaned with Sani-wipe.

· Must have a simple, straightforward, and intuitive interface that does not require searching multiple menus and submenus.

The Ultrasound meets this requirement with touchscreen buttons organized around edge of screen. Buttons use simple and clear language and can be easily located on home screen menu.

· Must have small footprint and size for portability and optimal bedside access.

The Ultrasound meets requirement with adjustable height and vertically adjustable control panel. Height ranges from 49 inches to 68 inches and width only 23 inches. The touchscreen display also rotates, tilts, and extends for easy viewing. It also has low-profile wheel base that helps position the system close to bedside.

· Must have excellent image quality to provide accuracy as this device will be used for diagnosis and procedures.

The Ultrasound meets requirement with 1080p video display and is Sonosite’s largest image display that provides inclusive and exact viewing

· Must be able to visualize surrounding tissues, nerves, arteries, and vessel pathways to prevent complications.

The Ultrasound meets requirement with both linear and curved transducers for images in both small areas and deeper tissues.

· Must have a transducer (probe) that can continue to have the Intravascular access team maintain sterility during vascular access procedures with programmable buttons.

The Ultrasound meets requirement with button on probe allowing individual user to control system while scanning at the same time.

· Must have cable management holders to keep transducers (probes) above the monitor and cables off the ground. Also must have storage for other supplies.

The Ultrasound meets requirement with power cords being confined within the column to prevent tangles and cable catcher and hooks to prevent tangled transducer cables. It also has a flexible storage system that can be adjusted to left or right side and a lockable drawer to secure supplies.

· Must have voice control to provide hands free system to allow for completing procedures without additional assistance or in a sterile environment.

The Ultrasound meets this requirements and has voice assist which allows for controlling of key commands including recording of imaging.
