All equipment must meet the following specifications:
Background:
The Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville has a requirement for eight automated chest compression devices to be used on patients in cardiac arrest. These automated compression devices will assure that all patients consistently have high quality CPR.
Scope of Work & or Salient Characteristics:
These automated compression devices will be used by trained and qualified Critical Care personnel

to ensure that patients in cardiac arrest receive consistent high-quality CPR for the entire duration of their cardiac arrest. Many characteristics of these compression devices are unique for the critical care units and cannot be found in any other product features collectively:
• These compression devices must deliver compressions at a 30:2 ratio with a 3 second pause for ventilation for the patient who does not have an advanced airway as well as continuous compressions at a rate >100 for the patient with an advanced airway. All compressions must be delivered with a depth of at least 2 inches (+/- .1 inches) from the start position.
• These devices should weigh no more than 15.9 lbs. and come with a transport case with wheels or that can be carried.
• These devices should be able to deliver compressions to a chest width of 18 inches and a chest height of 6.5 to 11.8 inches. These devices should not have a weight restriction.
• These devices should be equipped with a battery that can be installed in any direction, and a charging device for the battery.
• The battery should take less than 3 hours to charge while in the devices and less than 2 hours in the external charging station. They should also be able to work with the battery in and charging.
• The battery life should be at least 1 hour, when fully charged. It should also be equipped with a dual bay charger.
• Maintenance should not be required more frequently than every 18 months or 200 hours of use and should only be for the compression module.
• Battery packs should have a useful life of up to 300 charge/discharge cycles.
• A same day loner device should be available while these devices are under warranty, if needed.
• The carry case, batteries and disposable 3 pack starter kit should be included with these devices.
Delivery:
• All units to be delivered to each of the following sites Monday – Friday (Excluding National Holidays), 8am – 4:30pm:
o Malcom Randall VA Medical Center – Warehouse 1601 SW Archer Rd.
