PERIMETER FENCE REPAIR STATEMENT OF WORK

YUMA MEADOWS CONSERVATION AREA

Imperial County, California

FY 2024

LOWER COLORADO RIVER

MULTI-SPECIES CONSERVATION PROGRAM

1. Foreword

1.1 Background

Under the Lower Colorado River Multi-Species Conservation Program (MSCP), the Yuma Meadows Conservation Area (YMCA) provides disconnected backwater habitat for threatened and/or endangered native fish of the lower Colorado River. The facility supports the recovery of native fish species and creates wildlife habitat on the Lower Colorado River.

YMCA is a 433-acre parcel of land, situated on the California side of the river between Imperial and Laguna Dams; roughly 12.5 miles northeast of Yuma, AZ and 8 miles Southwest of Martinez Lake, AZ.

MSCP requires the replacement of approximately 3,500 linear feet of 7-ft high, 3 strand barb wire chain link fence fabric, not to include the existing fence posts, around the western perimeter of the YMCA site. The 3,500 linear feet is necessary to replace the fencing damaged from a July 2023 fire around the YMCA.
