Curb and Gutter Machine Specifications

NSN 2340PMC18073-31

Basic specifications and construction (Standard Equipment)

Minimum Configuration Standards developed IAW AFI 24-302, Vehicle Management, Section 1.20. Changes to this specification shall not be made without notification and approval from the Air Force Civil Engineer Center

(AFCEC).

The vehicle and all furnished accessories shall comply with all Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) in effect at the time of manufacture.

Mobile Curb and Gutter Machine on Tracks

PAVING CONFIGURATION

• Left-side to accommodate paving needs.

ENGINE

• Type: 3.4 Caterpillar® diesel engine (emission controlled),Tier 4

• Power: 120 hp (89.5 kW) @ 2200 rpm.

SERVICE CAPACITIES

• Fuel reservoir: 44 gal. (166.6 L), locking cap.

• Hydraulic oil reservoir: 105 gal. (397.5 L).

AUTOMATIC CONTROL SYSTEM

• Type: Electronic-over-hydraulic.

• Controls: Operating system with graphical display with multi-language capabilities, with metric or imperial measurements, color graphics, and a 6.5 in. (165 mm) anti-glare display screen.

• Reverse auto control: Single switch sets controls for automated control with machine traveling in reverse.

• Wireless Remote Control with Graphical Display Screen: Powered by a Lithium-Ion battery, which makes it easy to replace. The machine must ship with two batteries and a DC charger that is in the console for charging second battery. A fully charged battery will last for approximately twelve hours. The remote must fit under the console with the exclusive operating system for secure storage.

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

• Pumps: One closed-loop axial piston pump; two open-loop axial piston load sensed pumps; one open-loop axial piston pressure comp pump; and one open-loop gear pump.

• Hydraulic oil cooling: Oil cooler is combined with the charge air cooler and the radiator in a side-by-side remote mounted package.

• Filtration: 10 micron filter; one pressure filter for servos, 10 micron absolute synthetic non by-pass; Two 200 mesh magnetic sump filter, and one 20 micron control circuit filter

VIBRATORS

• Type: Hydraulically powered, motor-in-head, variable speed, independently controlled, and synchronized with machine movement.

• Quantity: Four hydraulic circuits and two hydraulic vibrators with mounts are standard.

SLIPFORM MOLD

• Curb and gutter mold: One mold is provided with the machine. Optional molds available for curb and gutter, parapet and sidewalk.

• Barrier/parapet sidemount attachment. Maximum slipforming height of 50 in. (1270

mm) See attached drawing.

• Driveway depressor for curb mold, hydraulically powered, factory installed on new mold only. (California Style)

HOOK-AND-GO MOLD MOUNT SYSTEM

• Hydraulic lift: 18 in. (457 mm) hydraulic vertical adjustment with the capability to adjust up to 24 in. (610 mm) with 6 in. (152 mm) manual vertical adjustment.

• Sideshift: 48 in. (1219 mm) hydraulic sideshift standard.

SUBGRADE TRIMMER (Sectionalized)

• Direct-drive trimmerhead: Closed-loop hydraulic circuit and radial piston motor.

• Trimmer wheel: 24 in. (610 mm) diameter trimming wheel.

• Trimmer wheel rotation: Upward cut.

• Width: 24 in. (610 mm) to 78 in. (1981 mm) sectionalized trimmerhead with hydraulic sideshift capability. Right-side discharge standard.

• Sideshift distance: 48 in. (1219 mm) hydraulic sideshift standard.

• Hydraulic lift trimmer: 12 in. (305 mm) hydraulic vertical adjustment with 6 in. (152

mm) manual vertical adjustment

AUGER

• Charging auger: Auger is directly driven with a radial piston hydraulic motor which provides an increase in torque and speed.

• Length: 16 ft. (4.88 m).

• Auger diameter: 16 in. (406 mm) diameter full pitch auger with abrasion-resistant flighting.

• Auger speed: Variable up to 88 rpm.

• Auger mount: Lateral swing mount with hydraulic adjustment for charging height

WATER SYSTEM

• Type: High-pressure water system with 100 gal. (378.5 liter) water tank with 0 to 2000 PSI adjustable pressure unloader.

TRACK SYSTEM

• Type: Three hydraulically powered, gear-driven crawler tracks.

• Overall track length: 5 ft. 1.4 in. (1.56 m).

• Center-to-center sprocket/idler length: 40.5 in. (1030 mm).

• Track pad width: 11.8 in. (300 mm).

• Gearbox reduction: 100:1.

• Track speed: Variable from 0 to 42 fpm (12.8 mpm) in paving mode and 0 to 125 fpm (38 mpm) in transport mode.

• Track tension: Fully automatic, hydraulically locks in on machine start-up, maintaining a steady tension of the track chain.

• Leg height adjustment: Each track to have 36 in. (914 mm) hydraulic adjustment, with 8 in. (203 mm) manual adjustment.

• Telescoping right front leg with 24 in. (610 mm) lateral track adjustment

• Power slide rear leg with 40 in. (1016 mm) lateral track adjustment

• Power swing left front leg with 21 in.(533 mm) left and 12.25 in. (311 mm) lateral track adjustment from straight ahead

• All track steering

• Overall height: 8 ft. 1 in. (2.5 m) with trimmerhead.

• Sidewalk slipforming up to 10 ft. (3.05 m) wide.

• Hydraulic pressure-compensated sideplates.

• Trimmerhead insert sections of 12 in. (305 mm), 18 in. (457 mm), 24 in. (610 mm) and 30 in. (762 mm) widths are available for trimmerhead width to 78 in. (1981 mm) maximum.

Contractor /Vendor, Please note changes for technical data requirements.

See below technical data requirements for US Air Force purchased vehicles.

1. The Contractor/Vendor shall provide one copy of DD Form 1155, Order for Supplies and Services to the U.S. Air Force Program Office at the below listed address. DFARS Clause 252.227-7015 (Dec 2011) shall be listed in Section I of the DD Form 1155. This documentation shall be supplied to the Air Force Program Office with the required technical data is shipped per item #2 of this requirements document.

2. The Contractor shall provide one (1) complete set of manuals to include, Operators, Parts and Service to the Program Office at the address listed below.

Also, manuals for any mounted or accessory equipment shall be provided. The data format shall be paper (printed) operators manuals, service, and parts manuals.

3. The Contractor shall provide two (2) complete sets of manuals to include, Operators, Parts and Service for each shipping location. Also, manuals for any mounted or accessory equipment shall be provided. The data format shall be paper (printed) operators manuals, and digital (CD-ROM) service and parts manuals.

4. Manuals written to specific models, serial numbers shall have all differences identified and provided to the U.S. Air Force Technical Content Manager.

Example, if a specific vehicle requires different technical manual coverage because of unique configuration changes, these changes shall be identified separately to the Air Force.

5. All data shall be supplied in accordance with DFARS clause 252.227-7015, December 2011
