About this file

This scope of work document outlines requirements for the purchase and installation of emergency backup generators and automatic transfer switches at four locations owned by the National Park Service in Yosemite National Park. The project includes installing standby power generators between 30-40 kW in size and 200 amp transfer switches at the El Portal Community Hall, El Portal Child Care Center, Yosemite Valley Child Care Center, and Wawona Community Center. The generators and transfer switches must meet specified voltage, frequency, fuel consumption, rating, and noise level standards. The generators are to be liquid cooled and fueled by LPG, with automatic start capability. Installation will require constructing concrete slabs and running new fuel lines at some sites, and is to be done in coordination with planned events and with minimal disruption to childcare services. Tribal and NPS monitoring may be required during ground-disturbing work. This scope of work relates to the federal contract opportunity for purchase and installation of backup generators and transfer switches at the four Yosemite National Park locations.

YOSE Emergency Backup Generators at Four Locations Ansley Singer, Management Analyst, Yosemite National Park

5/18/2023

Scope Of Work This project includes the purchase and installation of four Standby Power Generators and transfer switches at four locations owned by the National Park Service at Yosemite. Details about each site are included below. Specifications for the Generator and Transfer Switch are included below. Installation will occur under close coordination with the National Park Service, ensuring planned events at the community halls are not impacted. Close coordination will also ensure those relying on child care have ample time to plan for potential outages / impacts during the installation period.

Site # 1 - El Portal Community Hall Address: 5512 Foresta Road, El Portal CA 95318 Google Map Link: https://goo.gl/maps/GMzgX4P4fGTTEEE26 Slab: Completed, part of existing concrete patio area already on-site. Generator Location: Generator will be placed between the non-operational chimney and window – with adequate clearance according to the manufacturers requirements. Panel Location: Panel is on the rear side of the building on the same wall that the generator will be located. LPG: Same Side of the building right near the electrical panel.

Site # 3 – Yosemite Valley Child Care Center Address: 9001 Oak Lane, Yosemite CA 95389 Google Map Link: https://goo.gl/maps/s81QFanzDULLSQxu9 Slab: Contractor to install slab, in accordance to the generator manufacturer’s requirements, NPS and Tribal monitoring will most likely be required at this site (which is provided by NPS). Generator Location:

Generator will be placed in the relatively flat area adjacent to the Propane Tank. Panel Location: Panel is on the North side of the building (right side when viewed from the street) LPG: North side of the building in a fenced in area. New line from propane tank to the Generator is the most direct route. Tribal and NPS Monitoring will be required for ground disturbance work in this area (provided by the NPS).

Removal of manual Transfer Switch: The manual transfer switch used in the past should be removed and the automatic transfer switch installed.
