Statement Of Work

Service Contract for Thermo-Scientific LTQ Orbitrap Discovery

GENERAL INFORMATION

1.0 Scope of Work. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Center for

Agricultural Utilization Research in Peoria, IL has a need for a one-year service contract for maintaining and repairing a Thermo-Scientific LTQ Orbitrap Discovery (serial number:

SN 02005 B) mass spectrometer. Contractor will provide preventative maintenance (PM), unlimited repairs, labor, travel, and technical support for the mass spectrometer.

2.0 Background. The purpose of this statement of work is to obtain a service contract for the maintenance, repair and telephone support of a Thermo-Scientific LTQ Orbitrap Discovery.

Due to the complexity and sensitivity of this mission critical instrument, a service/field engineer with significant time and experience is necessary for the PM and repairs. They will be required to perform on-site service on the mass spectrometer within 5 business days of request for service. The final cost of the contract also includes any new repair parts (no refurbished parts) necessary for the mass spectrometer to return to operational status. These new parts must match the specs of the original parts and come with a 90-day warranty on parts and labor.

CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS

3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks. The contractor shall provide a one-year service contract which includes the following items:

3.1 Preventative maintenance, unlimited repairs, labor, travel, technical support, as well as new repair parts that match the specs of the original parts will be included in the final cost of the contract.

3.2 Service/field engineer shall be on-site within 5 business days of request for service.

3.3 After PM and repairs, the LTQ Orbitrap Discovery will be returned to operational status.

3.4 Use of new parts only in repair. Refurbished parts are not acceptable.

3.5 These new parts must match the specs of the original parts and come with a 90-day warranty on parts and labor

4.0 Key Personnel. Contractor shall supply a service/field engineer with at least three years of experience working on comparable instrument capable of performing the PM and repairs on-site within 5 business days of request for service.

5.0 Period of Performance, 22 July 2024 – 21 July 2025. Delivery of any equipment will require the use of a lift gate. Government will be present during delivery and installation of equipment to 1815 North University Street, Peoria, Illinois.
