1.1 Objective. The objective for the contractor is to Engineer, furnish, install, label and test (EFI&T) ~23,000 feet of Single Mode (SM) Fiber communication cables from Building 401B Comm Shelter to nine (9) different buildings on the North Side Complex and Building 827 on Dobbins ARB, GA. In addition, a new manhole (MH) shall be installed in front of the Building 401B Comm Shelter labeled 401B-MH1, 36 dark Strands of existing SM Fiber shall be extended from designated hand hole (HH) labeled 401B-HH1 into the newly installed MH labeled 401B- MH1. 36 Strands of SM Fiber shall be installed from the 401B-MH1 into 401B Comm Shelter.

The fiber shall be fusion spliced in 401B-MH1 to the 36 SM Strands extended from 401B-HH1.

This is a turn-key solution to provide the necessary units, to include all equipment, engineering, furnishing, installing, splicing, and terminating, labeling and testing necessary to install ~23,000 feet of Single Mode Fiber.

1.2. Background. The remaining 264 strands are still dark in Building 700 and in the 401B-HH1 on the North Side Complex as depicted in Attachment 2 of solicitation.

B-401B Comm Shelter is a core node (CN). B-401B Comm Shelter shall be connected to two CNs: B-700 DCO and B-827 by two separate 36 SM fiber cables. All other stated (Depicted) access nodes (ANs) shall be connected directly (avoiding daisy chain) to B-401B Comm Shelter by SM fiber cables using existing MH/HH/Duct systems first if space is available, direct bury or newly installed Duct (as depicted in Attachment 2 of solicitation) as required.

Reference Attachment 2 of solicitation for overall view of cable route from B-401B Comm Shelter to nine (9) access nodes.
