Attachment 1 Specifications Project: Corn Chopping Head

GENERAL INFORMATION

Specifications:

The USDA-Dairy Forage Research Farm at Prairie du Sac, WI seeks a new chopping corn head to use on Case IH Model 9250. Specifications for the purchase are itemized below.

Background:

The USDA-ARS Prairie du Sac station will use this chopping corn head to harvest high moisture and dry corn. It is important that it is a chopping head to size corn residue. This is important for establishing cover crops after harvest. Cover crops are a major focus for our farming operation.

CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS

Technical Requirements/Tasks:

The vendor must have a strong working knowledge of farm harvest equipment.

This unit must fit on the Case IH Model 9250. This unit must be fully assembled and functional at the time of delivery. It must come with all the necessary hydraulic and electrical hookups to work in Case IH Model 9250.

Brand name or equal:

New Drago 830 GT or equivalent

Specifications:

• Single chop gearboxes - individual rows can be turned on or off

• 8-row 30” head

• Side hydraulic driven short down corn augers

• Self-adjusting spring-loaded deck plates

• Quad-suspension deck plates

• 22.5" long knife rolls with tip-to-tip knife processing

• 20" diameter auger

• Spring-loaded snout-pressure

• Endura Drive inline row unit drives

• Gear driven auger - no auger chain

• Independent radial slip clutches

• Spiral cut gears in gearboxes

• 3 sensor head-sight lateral tilt sensor kit

• Operators manual

Deliverables / Schedule:

Delivery is expected to the Prairie du Sac Agricultural Research Station (S8822 Sunset Drive, Prairie du Sac, WI)
