Project Purchase of DASGIP Four-Vessel Parallel Bioreactor Upgrade
General Information
1.0 Scope of Work
Vendor is to deliver and install a new Eppendorf DASGIP four-vessel parallel bioreactor upgrade on an existing system.
2.0 Background
DASGIP Parallel Bioreactor Systems for R&D and process development in microbiology allow for advanced bioprocess control and automation. Parallel processing, precise control of all relevant parameters (e.g., temperature, pH, stirring, aeration) and numerous automation features (e.g., controlled feeding and antifoam addition) result in improved process development of microbial production of desired bioproducts. The USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) in Peoria, Illinois currently has an Eppendorf DASGIP eight-vessel parallel bioreactor system that was purchased in 2006 and is no longer serviceable. In addition, a newer model Eppendorf DASGIP four-vessel parallel bioreactor system (200 ml-1.0 L) was purchased in 2022. There is a need to upgrade this newer unit with an additional four-vessel parallel bioreactor system so that up to eight parallel vessels can be utilized simultaneously using the same DASware control system.
Contractor Requirements
3.0 Technical Requirements / Tasks
The Eppendorf DASGIP four-vessel parallel bioreactor upgrade must be seamlessly integrated into the current system with identical, or at least fully compatible components, as determined by manufacturer specifications and recommendations. This is required for reproducibility of replicates with all eight vessels and to ensure DASware software control systems can properly communicate with the various components.
