Death Valley National Park, CA Wayside Replacement Specifications
Death Valley is in need of replacement wayside panels and bases for various wayside exhibits around the park. Below is a complete list of items to be supplied by the vendor. Death Valley National Park will provide electronic copies of the designs and will be responsible for the install of panels and bases.
Part 1: Background/Objective/Scope
I. Background Death Valley National Park is committed to providing accurate and accessible information about park resources. Waysides are installed in various locations in the park to give background on the area immediately next to them. These waysides are installed outdoors, where they get no shade cover, exposed to extreme heat and open to visitors at all hours. These conditions have sun-bleached the panels, left them scratched, eroded, and vandalized. Years of wear and tear has left all in need of replacement so that visitors can continue to enjoy high quality educational and interpretive experiences.
II. Objective To order 17 customized wayside panels with 17 duplicates as backup replacements for the future (total of 34 panels) and 10 low profile cantilevered bases with panel housing. See appendix for example images.
