Specification Document Pellets Rations at the Feedlot
Background and Purpose:
Scientists at the Roman L. Hruska U.S. Meat Animal Research Center (USMARC) are developing scientific information and new technology to solve high priority problems for the U.S. beef, sheep, and swine industries. As part of the effort, the beef population of USMARC spends a varied length of time at the feedlot operation. Pellets with a variety of nutritional value are needed for feeding cattle at the feedlot.
Technical Requirements:
The bulk Balancer Pellets must be delivered to USDA/ARS/USMARC; Clay Center, NE feedlot in auger trucks while the bagged pellets must be delivered on a pallet. A typical delivery schedule would be 5-10 ton per week for the life of the contract. Truck drivers will need to coordinate with Feedlot operations on delivery times and schedules but normal hours of 7:00am -3:30pm Monday-Friday are anticipated. Deliveries of each pellet must be accompanied with a delivery ticket stating the amount of each pellet that was delivered. Delivery must start 04/01/2024.
