USMARC

SPECIFICATIONS

Pasture Salt FY23

1. Introduction: Scientists at the Roman L. Hruska U.S. Meat Animal Research Center (USMARC) are developing scientific information and new technology to solve high priority problems for the U.S. beef, sheep, and swine industries. About 50 percent of the effort is with beef cattle, 30 percent with swine, and 20 percent with sheep. Pasture Salt is used in cattle rations.

2. Scope: The Contractor shall provide pasture salt in the description and quantity listed.

3. Technical Requirements:

Product: Pasture Salt (160 Tons)

Product Specification: Pasture Salt that is custom mixed according to the specifications listed below. These bags also need to be in 50 pound bags and delivered to the USMARC feedmill. Any loads not meeting these specifications will be rejected. Truck drivers will need to coordinate with feedmill operations on delivery times and schedules but normal hours of7:00am -3:30pm Monday-Friday are anticipated. Delivery must start 04/01/2023 and will continue until 11/1/2023. USMARC is anticipating 160 tons of pasture salt will be needed until 11/1/2023, with a minimum amount of25 tons/month. US MARC can't take upfront delivery of the whole contracted amount, so receiving pasture salt every month will last the entire duration of the contract (April through October). USMARC will contact contractor a minimum of 2 weeks ahead of time to order the amount needed for the following month.

Pasture salt in the specifications and quantities required within the listed period of performance.
