STATEMENT OF WORK

FOR

REPAIR OF OSHKOSH TRUCK MOUNTED SNOW BLOWER

CRATER LAKE NATIONAL PARK

BACKGROUND

The National Park Service at Crater Lake National Park, Oregon (CRLA) has a requirement for the repair of a 2010 Oshkosh Model H3226B (dual engine) Truck-Mounted Snow Blower, Serial No.

10TBFAP19AS120098 (Oshkosh). The blower engine clutch is leaking hydraulic fluid through the blower engine clutch shaft. This unit was repaired previously for this condition by replacing the bearings and seals in the blower clutch. After approximately 200 hours of operation, hydraulic fluid is again leaking through the clutch assembly. The intent now is to replace the clutch unit entirely.

SCOPE

The Contractor will provide all labor, supervision, parts, and transportation necessary to remove and replace the blower engine clutch and restore the machine to full functionality.

TASKS

The Contractor will be responsible for loading the Oshkosh at CRLA and transporting it to their repair facility. The Oshkosh weighs approximately 49,680 lbs. and is 417 inches long, 110 inches wide, and 151 inches high.

Repairs will require the removal of the drop box from the blower engine and removal and replacement of the clutch assembly. The blower engine cowling may need to be removed for engine and drop box access.

The clutch on this unit is specified by the manufacturer (Oshkosh) as a Logan Clutch, Oshkosh part number 4651839, Logan Clutch part number LC314-H1N08 Logan Clutch Corporation, Cleveland, Ohio (recommended supplier). The Contractor shall verify that the new clutch assembly specifications, including technical parameters such as bore, taper, and keyway dimensions are compatible with this blower. The Contractor shall also verify that the new clutch assembly includes the ability to lubricate clutch bearings through Zerk fittings.

OEM parts may be available through Oshkosh Corporation. The Contracting Officer can assist regarding the current supply chain at Oshkosh since they have recently reorganized and their phone numbers, etc., have changed. “Over the counter” parts may be utilized as necessary to facilitate repairs.

DELIVERY

The Contractor will also be responsible for return transport to CRLA and unloading when repairs are complete.

PLACE OF PERFORMANCE

Work shall be accomplished at the contractor’s facility. The Oshkosh is located at the CRLA maintenance facility on Munson Valley Road, three miles north of OR Hwy. 62. The coordinates are 42°53'44.1"N 122°08'12.4"W. The location is 57 miles from Klamath Falls, Oregon and 75 miles from Medford, Oregon.
