About this file
This is Amendment #1 to a Request for Quotes issued by the SC Department of Natural Resources for the removal and replacement of two roofs at Yawkey Wildlife Center located in Georgetown, South Carolina. The project encompasses roof replacement work on two buildings: Building A (YC04) and Building B (YWC26). The solicitation requires submission of offers online at http://www.procurement.sc.gov by February 19, 2020 at 10:00 AM, with questions from offerors due by February 6, 2020 at 12:00 noon. A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for February 5, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Yawkey Wildlife Center's parking lot, where attendees will be transported to the island via ferry. Award notification is scheduled for February 19, 2020, and offerors must hold their offers open for a minimum of ninety calendar days following the opening date. All award announcements, the original solicitation, amendments, and related notices are posted at http://www.procurement.sc.gov.
The amendment clarifies specifications and answers vendor questions regarding materials and scope requirements for both buildings. For both Building A and Building B, contractors must include 100 square feet of 5/8-inch plywood decking in their base bids, with additional replacement handled per specifications. Additional requirements include priming all exposed new wood, replacing damaged siding, removing shingle molding on rakes for Building B, installing a chimney cricket if required by current code, and replacing an estimated 220 linear feet of fascia with pricing for any additional fascia replacement provided on a per-linear-foot basis. Contractors are not required to remove or reset satellite dishes. The procurement officer is Andy Bowman, CPPB, and all inquiries should be directed to bowmana@dnr.sc.gov.
