About this file
This document is an Amendment to a Request for Quotation (RFQ) issued by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for a 10-Watt diode-pumped, solid state 532nm continuous-wave laser. The RFQ specifies that the laser must be a "Diode-pumped frequency-doubled Nd: YVO4-laser with a CW output power of at least 10 W @ 532 nm, TEM 00." The solicitation is issued as a commercial item acquisition under FAR Parts 12 and 13, with a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable evaluation approach. Responses must provide evidence of the offeror's capability to meet the technical specifications and delivery requirements within 12 weeks after contract award. The acquisition has a NAICS code of 334515 with a 750 employee size standard. Offerors must submit all questions in writing by the specified deadline, and final responses must be received by the date indicated in the announcement. The solicitation incorporates various FAR provisions and clauses by reference.

Questions and Answers
TITLE: 10-Watt diode-pumped, solid state 532nm continuous-wave laser
1. The Specifications state that the laser must be a "Diode-pumped frequency-doubled Nd:
YVO4-laser with a CW output power of at least 10 W @ 532 nm, TEM 00."
Question: Is this specification required or would a different type of frequency-doubled laser be acceptable depending on the laser architecture?
Answer: Yes, this specification is required. The frequency-doubled laser shall be a “Diode-pumped frequency-doubled Nd: YVO4-laser with a CW output power of at least 10 W @ 532 nm, TEM 00,” in accordance with the Specifications document.
