SECTION C--DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATIONS/STATEMENT OF WORK

Scope of Contract

Project consists of repairs to two barracks facilities at the Challenge Work Center. This includes water damage repairs in the bathroom, mold removal in the kitchen cabinets, and the replacement of several bathroom and kitchen fixtures, as well as any incidental plumbing and carpentry work associated with those replacements. Work in the individual residences is broken down in the following sections:

Work in the kitchen of residence 1035 will require replacing the particle board in the cabinets beneath the kitchen sink. All particle board surfaces in the kitchen cabinets that have been affected by mold will be treated with Kilz or a similar product and painted over brown. Other items which will also require replacement include the under sink surface, supply line, supply valve, drain line, and faucet.

Work in the bathrooms of residences 1032 and 1035 will consist of several fixture replacements. The existing bathtub in each residence will need to be removed and mortar or foam will need to be installed beneath the replacement tubs for support. Items that will also need to be installed include a new showerhead, a new one piece shower enclosure, and grab bars, including all incidental waterproofing and finish work. Grab bars may require the installation of additional blocking. Additionally, the bathroom in residence 1032 will require the removal and replacement of a toilet and wax ring, bathroom vanity, light fixture, and light switch face plate. The bathroom floor in residence 1032 is also slightly higher than the floor in the adjacent hallway. The floor transition will be made flush by removing the current floor underlayment and installing a new vinyl flooring and a new floor threshold in its place.

Option A:

Install an access panel to the bathroom in residence 1032. The bathroom in residence 1035 will also require a new exhaust fan and the shelves in the closet on the outside wall of the bathroom will need to be removed so that a new access panel can be added.
