Snow Mountain CSE Questions and Answers Document Version 1: May 4, 2015 3:00PM Pacific Time Any additional questions will be added to this list.

Q1: Do you have gpx or shp files for the stand boundaries and plot locations?

A1: Shapefile for the stand polygons is provided in a separate document, but not the individual plots. In the Shapefile attribute table, the number of acres and the number of plots is listed for each stand. This information is also in the attached table. The plots are located on a systematic square grid with approximately 1 plot per five acres which equates to a 7 chain (462 feet) square grid with azimuths of 360, 270, 180, and 90 degrees.

Q2: Are any of the roads shown on the project maps subject to motor vehicle closures?

A2: Also attached is the Lassen National Forest Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) for the area, which shows seasonal closures. Roads are not to be driven on when resource damage may occur, such as after a heavy rain storm. Roads are also subject to temporary, emergency closures. The seasonal closures in the MVUM are for winter and snowmobile use. If it is a dry winter, permits may be issued for Contractor’s continued use of roads. If there is snow on the ground, the Contractor would not be permitted to collect data anyway because ground vegetation and surface fuels may not be measurable. Details will be discussed with the awarded Contractor if such a scenario occurs during performance.
