Lynx Electrical Trenching Additional Questions Received

Prescott National Forest

Solicitation # AG-9702-S-10-0504

Date: 8/4/2010 Questions and Clarifications sent to Ann May by e-mail:

1. Instead of pavement cut and trenching (Detail 5 on Sheet D-1, Pavement cut and repair detail) can we bore under the pavement, insert a sleeve and place conduit in the sleeve? A: Yes this is an acceptable alternative for the 9 road crossings.

2. The equipment that will be supplied by APS, will the contractor need to pick it up at APS's facility or will APS deliver to the project site? A: Contractor responsible to pick up from APS.

3. Who will we need to contact to obtain water for the earthwork? A: Contractor responsible to provide water for earthwork.

4. Will we need to obtain any City of Prescott permits? A: No

5. If we encounter existing tree roots that are visible at the ground surface or below surface in the path of the new trench, what is the procedure to follow? A: Cut back roots to edge of trench.

6. If we require more than the (10) potholes listed in the Bid Schedule to determine the path of the existing water line, what is the procedure to follow? A: 10 is an estimate for bidding, you will be paid for the actual amount. (See Section 00100 Measurement & Payment)

7. Can you give the approximate dimensions of the lay down area and if we need to fence off that area? A: That is up to you as to how much space you need.

8. Can we stock pile the spoils until the end of excavation and then remove it from the site at that time? A: Yes.
