CLAD CASEMENT/AWNING WINDOWS
PART 1 GENERAL
1.1 SECTION INCLUDES
A. Aluminum Clad Ultimate Casement/Awning push out, Operators, Stationary and Picture units complete with push out hardware, glazing, weather strip, hinged wood screen, simulated divided lite.

1.3 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
A. Design and Performance Requirements: Push Out
1. Window units shall be designed to comply with ANSI/AAMA/NWWDA 101/I.S.2-97 and 101/I.S.2/NAFS02 and AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440-05 for operable Casement Frame size 40 x 92 1/16= CW-PG35-C, for operable Casement Frame size 36 x 96 1/16=CW-PG35-C, for operable Awning Frame size 72 x 47 1/8=AP-C30, for operable Awning Frame size 40 x 47 1/8=AP-C35. AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/ A440-08 Picture/Stationary Casement Frame size 96 1/8 x 88=CW-PG50-FW, Picture/Stationary Casement Frame size 88 x 96 1/8=CW-PG50-FW.
1.4 SUBMITTALS
A. Shop Drawings: Submit shop drawings under.
B. Product Data: Submit catalog data under.
C. Samples:
1. Submit corner section.
2. Include glazing system, quality of construction, and specified finish.
3. Quality Control Submittals: Certificates: Submit manufacture’s certifications indicating compliance with specified performance and design requirements.
1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Regulatory Requirements: IBC International Building Code.
1.6 DELIVERY
A. Deliver in original packaging and protect from weather.
1.7 WARRANTY
A. Windows shall be warranted to be free from defects in manufacturing, materials, and workmanship for a period of ten (10) years from purchase date.
B. Insulating glass shall be warranted against visible obstruction through the glass caused by a failure of the insulating glass air seal for a period of twenty (20) years from the date of original purchase.
PART 2 PRODUCTS
1.1 MANUFACTURED UNITS
A. Description: Factory assembled Ultimate Clad Casement and Awning, operating exterior swing window, Push Out models, as manufactured by Marvin Windows and Doors, Warroad, Minnesota. Each unit provided shall have a maximum U-factor of .35 and be Energy Star certified.
1.2 FRAME DESCRIPTION
A. Interior: Clear Pine or finger jointed core with clear pine veneer.
1. Kiln dried to moisture content no greater than twelve (12) percent at the time of fabrication.
2. Water repellent preservative treated in accordance with WDMA I.S.4.
B. Frame Thickness: 1 3/16 inches (30mm).
C. Frame Depth: Overall 5 21/32 (144mm) for full frame applications, and 4 9/16 (116mm) jamb depth from the nailing fin plane to the interior face of the frame for new construction.
D. Frame exterior clad with 0.050 inch (1.3mm) thick extruded aluminum.
1.3 SASH DESCRIPTION
1. Clear Pine standard Kiln dried to moisture content no greater than twelve (12) percent at the time of fabrication.
2. Water repellent preservative treated in accordance with WDMA I.S.4.
A. Sash thickness: 1 5/8 inches (41mm) with ¾ inch (19mm) insulated glass. For 1 inch (25mm) insulated glass sash thickness is 1 7/8 inch (48mm).
B. Sash exterior clad with 0.050 inch (1.3mm) thick extruded aluminum.
2.4 GLAZING
A. Select quality complying with ASTM C 1036. Insulating glass SIGMA/IGCC certified to performance level CBA when tested in accordance with ASTM E 2190.
B. Glazing method: Insulating glass (altitude adjusted).
C. Glass Type: Clear; Low E II—Air; Obscure as noted on drawing.
D. Glazing seal: Silicone bedding at interior and exterior.
E. Sash Options:
1. Tall Bottom Rail
2. Interior Sticking:Square
2.5 FINISH
A. Exterior: Aluminum clad. Fluoropolymer modified acrylic topcoat applied over primer. Meets or exceeds AAMA 2605 requirements.

B. Interior: Treated bare wood
A. Casement Push Out:
1. Hinges: One at the sill to bottom rail, one at the head jamb to top rail. Hinges are steel coated with Eguard. Hinge track is stainless steel. Units with a frame OM of 20 inches and greater use an 18 inch wash/egress hinge to allow the sash to slide across the frame opening which causes the sash exterior to rotate towards the user for easy wash ability. Units under 20 inch OM width use a standard 2 bar hinge which will position the sash when fully open to 90 degrees for the user to wash, but does not include the feature of sliding the sash across the opening and rotating the exterior towards the user.
2. The Push Out unit includes one friction limiter device to control the sash open position. The limiter includes adjustable friction via a screw adjustment. The limiter has multiple positions that can be locked to hold the sash firmly in place.
3. Locks: Are a multi-point sequential concealed locking system in jamb opposite the hinge side. Lock sets are removable and non-handed. Standard tie bar, cams and keepers are steel coated with Eguard.
B. Awning Push Out:
1. Hinges: There are two hinges that connect the stiles of the sash to the jambs of the frame. Hinges are steel coated with Eguard. Hinge tracks are stainless steel. The hinges are four bar hinges. All hinges include friction adjustment via a set screw in the brass shoe.
2. Locks: Multi-point, sequential, concealed locking system in both jambs. Lock handles are removable and non-handed. Standard tie bar, cams and keepers are steel coated with Eguard.
3. A large enough opening to allow egress is also attainable, if the correct size is specified.
2.6 WEATHER STRIP
A. Weather stripping at frame is a hollow foamed material bent around 90 degree corner to allow for seamless corner joints beige in color. Sash weather strip is bulb shaped glass filled material, available in beige, white or black.
2.9 INSECT SCREENS
A. Wood Hinged Screen; High Transparency Fiberglass
2.10 SIMULATED DIVIDED LITES (SDL)
A. 7/8 inch, with spacer bars.
1. Exterior Muntins: 0.055 inch (1.4mm) thick extruded aluminum.
2. Interior Muntins: Pine Muntins adhered to glass with closed-cell copolymer acrylic foam tape.
3. Pattern: Rectangular.
4. Finish; Exterior-Match clad color, Interior-Match wood species.
2.11 ACCESSORIES AND TRIM
A. Installation Accessories:
1. Factory installed vinyl nailing fin/drip cap.
