Amendment 0002Shoshone National Forest

Q1: Is a bid guarantee required?

A1: A bid guarantee is required because performance and payment bonds are required due to the estimated magnitude of the project. The amount of the bid guarantee is 20% of the bid or $25,000.00 whichever is less.

Q2: Is survey and staking required?

A2: No, survey and staking is not required.

Q3: Are plans required?

A3: Three (3) sets of shop drawings are required. See Note 9 page 6 of 7.

Q4: Is grading required at any of the bridge sites?

A4: No grading of the road surface is required.

Q5: Do we match up with the existing guardrail type? (Corten steel is existing on BR #109 and BR #213. Galvanized rail is on BR #101).

A5: Guardrails shall be corten for all three (3) bridges.

Q6: What is expected of the current signage?

A6: No new signs are required. It is the contractor’s responsibility to remove and reset existing signs as required for the guardrail installation.

Q7: What is the weight limit of the bridges?

A7: All three (3) bridges are open to highway legal loads.

Q8: Is the contractor responsible for removal and resetting of the gate?

A8: The contractor is responsible to remove and reset the gate on Bridge #101-16.8.
