AG-82B1-S-10-0300 Vendor Questions:
1) I have a question on the type of equipment needed on the Lowry fuels treatment project. The literature stated “tracked and or rubber tire”. Does this mean we can use an excavator with steel tracks as long as it does not exceed the maximum ground pressure?
Response: Under C.8.3 it tells you that the max PSI is 12, it can be tracked or rubber-wheeled, mulching head able to perform the work described in the scope of the contract (C.8.2 Specifications) and the equipment shall have a reach of at least 20'. To actually answer your question, yes an excavator with steel tracks can be used as long as it has the 20' reach and doesn't exceed the max. PSI of 12.
