Lower and Middle Jackson Creek Culvert Replacement Pre-bid meeting notes

Attendees:

Thomas Micheon, Tacit Inc.

Eric Larsen, E. Larsen Co.

Bill Casagranda, FA Industrial Services, Inc.

Greg Howard, Howard Bros, Inc.

Marques Jolma, M Jolma, Inc.

Michael Delene, MD Contracting, Inc.

Questions:

Is dulling or “pickeling” the headwalls required? Dulling of the head and wing walls are not an industry standard in our area. Since this stream course cannot support canoe or kayak use we do not need to require the contractors to dull the head and wing walls for the Aluminum box culvert. Please add in the following to the pre-bid notes, Delete FSSS section 603.02

There is no reference to Channel Rock in FP-14? The supplemental specs would cover that.

There is no wage rate for excavator operator. The Heavy Construction Wage Determination for Gogebic County is now included.

The forest Service will be requiring density testing for all structural backfill.

Can the road be shut down? Yes.

Is gravel furnished by the Forest Service? No.
