However, all manner of non-motorized hand tools such as hammers, shovels, grip hoists, wheel barrows, etc. will be allowed. 2. As a clarification to General Note No. 2 on Sheet 2 of 6 of the Project Plans, a helicopter is NOT being provided by the Forest Service. The Forest Service will allow helicopter access into the Green Mountain

National Forest Congressionally Designated Wilderness Area where the project site is located, but is not providing the helicopter service itself. This will be provided by the Offeror and coordinated through the

Forest Service COR. Payment for demolition, removal and disposal of the existing bridge superstructure and helicopter transport of old and new bridge components shall be paid for under Item No. 15101

Mobilization.

3. Upon request from the Offeror, the Forest Service may provide a material lay-down area for Offeror helicopter airlifts / drops at the Forest’s Mt. Tabor Work Center just off VT Route 7 in Mt. Tabor

Vermont. The Forest Service will provide a material lay-down area for Offeror helicopter airlifts / drops at a location near the Appalachian Trail approximately 300-500 feet north of the bridge site.

4. The bridge site will be closed to hikers during construction and no alternate crossing will be available to them near the bridge site. Camping by the Offeror’s crew performing the bridge site work will be allowed at the bridge site material lay-down area or as designated by the Forest Service COR, and will be according to USDA Forest Service regulations and Leave No Trace Wilderness Guidelines. The trail to the bridge site is not suitable for pack animal transport of materials and equipment and will NOT be used for this purpose.
