UNIT: NRS – Morgantown, WV PROJ NAME: HVAC Renovation
Amendment 000002
The following questions were received and are hereby answered by this amendment:
Q1) Will the VAV boxes in the 1977 wing will still need to be controlled pneumatically?
A1) Yes.
Q2) Can one thermostat be used to control both the FTR and dual duct boxes or must they be separated?
A2) Bid as shown in drawings and specs.
Q3) Can the dual duct boxes be retrofitted to DDC or must they be replaced?
A3) Bid as shown in drawings and specs.
Q4) How many loops are in each wing in for the FTR? Can they be isolated at each office?
A4) One loop in each wing. The 1966 wing can be shut off in the boiler room and still have the capability to provide heat to the 1977 wing and the air-handler hot deck. The 1977 wing can isolate areas since there are gate valves to allow in line isolation to specific areas.
Q5) Will the downspout have to be relocated for the installation of the new fresh air intake?
A5) The downspout does not have to be relocated if the ducting allows clearance so that it can remain in its original configuration.
Q6) Is modification of the existing safety grating for the installation a portion of the requirement?
A6) Yes, any work to install the new ducting that will cause modification to the protective grating will have to be returned to protect anyone/anything from falling into the pit.
Q7) What are the work hours for this project?
A7) Due to the fact we’re situated in a primarily residential area it, work shall not begin before 7 a.m. and shall not end later than 10 p.m. for any demo work or equipment movement that would be a disturbance to the local residents.
