RFQ# AG-32SD-S-14-0003
REPAIR WATER-DAMAGED AREAS OF
USDA, ARS, San Joaquin Valley Agricultural Science Center Parlier, CA
STATEMENT OF WORK
INTRODUCTION
Due to water leak that occurred during the Government shutdown (Oct 1 – 16, 2013), several areas in the east wing of the USDA, Agricultural Research Service, San Joaquin Valley Agricultural Sciences Center main building suffered damage.
The damage occurred in the walls and floors of a small conference room, the adjoin hallway and specific areas of a break room.
After the leak was discovered, the following work has been performed on the damaged areas:
· Removed sheetrock walls in conference room, adjoining hallway and break room, as mold contaminated
Inspection and sample collection determined:
· no visible mold on any of the walls, exposed wood wall studs and flooring, in the contained
Moisture readings taken from the contained area determined:
· remaining sheetrock walls and wood wall studs were dry
Currently, the area is clean. The remediation left the contained area in good condition to proceed with repair.
REQUIRED REPAIR WORK:
1. Return to functioning: the electrical floor outlet. It was water-logged; water has been vacuumed out. Dampness anticipated.
2. Replace insulation that had been removed during remediation
3. Repair or replace sheetrock and/or drywall, in water damaged areas
4. Repair or replace trim on walls, doors and windows
5. Provide and install carpet in conference room and adjoining hallway
· Install rubber cove molding, in same areas.
6. Paint walls and trim of entire area: conference room, hallway and breakroom.
· Color to match neighboring existing walls.
