Pre-bid meeting for GMNF Workshop Addition and Renovation Project – Friday, March 31, 2017 Solicitation # AG-1681-S-17-0014 The following questions and requests for clarifications were raised at the meeting:

1) Clarification is requested on coordinating with electric utility company and if a new meter is required? The utility company is Green Mountain Power (GMP). There is an update required for Phase 1 Electrical in the mechanical room (Sheet E1.01 on the project plans). The Contractor is to coordinate with GMP (POC Carol Burke, 802-234-5113) to upgrade the existing 400 amp service to 600 am service. This includes, but is not limited to, modifications of the service from the pole to building and modifications to the existing panel. Contractor is to pay for all fees from the utility.

2) The wall insulation shown on Detail 1 on Sheet A3.01, calls for “R23 blown in dense-pack fiber glass insulation”. Is this what you want and may an alternative be submitted? This detail is correct and contractor should bid as it is shown. Contractors may also submit an alternative bid. Alternative bids will be evaluated upon submittal.

3) What is the required depth of the exterior extruded polystyrene insulation? The plans specify to match existing depth. The depth shall be 4 ft, unless there is an interference that will prevent the full depth (i.e. existing concrete apron on the south side of the building and around existing under drain around the perimeter of the building). Coordinate with COR.

4) Should there be a water stop gasket/seal between the existing concrete foundation wall and the new concrete sill wall (shown on Detail 1 on Sheet A3.01)? No.

5) Contractor asked if it was possible to modify Detail 1 on Sheet A3.01 to have the wall site on the existing concrete foundation wall at grade? This would omit the 16” + concrete wall to be poured. Contractor should bid as it is shown. Contractors may also submit an alternative bid. Alternative bids will be evaluated upon submittal.

6) Under the 4” concrete floor slab, it calls for 6” of compacted gravel, is this existing or to be included in the bid? Existing suitable material may be reused as approved by the COR.

7) Can we re-use the existing chain link fence? The existing chain link fence may be reused for under the shed roof on the east side of the building. Sections of fence to be reused shall be approved by the COR prior to installation.
