ATTACHMENT TO STANDARD FORM 30, (BLOCK 14 CONTINUED)
This amendment publicizes the following question and response received from a contractor.
Question: When you look at the cross sections on sheet 6 of the plans you are basically excavating 24' of the road way down. I don't believe you can safely get traffic around this excavation or even have enough room for it anyway. So my question is can we completely close the road down? Or is there other alternatives you want implemented and if so what would they be in detail?
Response: No, the road may not be completely closed. Based on the current design a contractor would have 11.7’ of existing asphalt width left, and can obtain approximately 13.5 ft of roadway with filling in the ditch. 12’ is the minimum. If a contractor follows the slopes in the plans, a road closure would not be required. To meet the traffic control requirements, the ditch will need to be filled. Onsite extracted material may be used to fill the ditch.
This amendment extends the response date to May 31, 2016, 4:00 PM – Local Time.
This amendment changes the Estimated Start Work date to June 20, 2016.
