About this file

This document is an amendment to a solicitation for next generation large airtanker services. The Forest Service intends to award up to seven line items under this competitive contract to supplement existing airtanker contracts for aerial fire retardant delivery nationwide in support of fire suppression. Airtankers must have a minimum 3,000-gallon retardant capacity, with higher evaluations given to tanks up to 5,000 gallons. The traffic advisory system display requirement is removed. The proposal due date is extended to March 31, 2015 at 4 PM Mountain Time. Airtankers will be stationed at bases throughout the U.S. as needed and available for interagency use by the Department of Interior agencies and state agencies. This amendment modifies requirements around tank capacity and avionics, extends the response deadline, and clarifies interagency usage of awarded airtankers.
