Plot and Headrow Planter Specifications

· This plot planter must have capabilities to plant both plots and single seeded rows.

· Have a 60 step gearbox to adjust plot length from 7 – 100 ft

· 7 rows on 8 inch spacing, set up on a 64 inch track width, must also include a 6-row distribution head.

· Be 3-point hitch compatible, Cat. II

· Have a gross weight between 1,500-3,000 lbs

· Must use Great Plains Double disc openers with press wheel

· Must be based on a 5” x 5” main tool bar for strength and tillage tool attachment

· Overall transport width not to exceed 100”

· For plot seeding the planter must utilize a large belted cone minimum of 11 inch diameter, which is trigger via tractor GPS signal.

· Include a roto-splitter to evenly distribute the seed to the 7 rows for single plot planting.

· Include a magazine system that utilizes Hege style bubble trays that the barley breeding program already possesses for single row planting.

· The magazine system must utilize automated triggering based on GPS signal from Tractor GPS.

· Include 4 separate belted cones for seed distribution when planting with the magazine system, with a minimum of 4 inch diameter, which feed to every other double disc opener

· Include a catch device for empty trays feeding off the magazine system.

· Include a place for seed trays to be carried on the planter with access to the planter operator.

· Must be compatible with Trimble FMX GPS system.

· Include an operator’s seat mounted on the planter with a minimum 12 inch walking platform.

· Must apply appropriate down pressure on to disc openers for conventional and minimum tillage

· Include delivery to 1691 S. 2700 W. Aberdeen, Idaho

· Include onsite set-up and training for machine and maintenance
