About this file
This document is Addendum 1 for the 2025 RFB Spring Mill & Fill project issued by the City of Portage's Department of Purchasing on June 18, 2025. The addendum addresses three key questions regarding the road resurfacing project, which involves milling and paving work on Vanderbilt Avenue. The bid remains due by 3:00 p.m. on June 18, 2025, with no changes to the original submission deadline. The project scope includes work on approximately 64 sewer manholes and 2 water valves throughout the project area.
The addendum clarifies that milling quantities will be updated to match paving dimensions, and contrary to initial specifications, no base preparation will be required for the project. The city has confirmed there are no anticipated structure adjustments needed. Bidders are advised that all other terms, conditions, and specifications remain unchanged from the original bid documents. The contact for any additional questions is Victoria Barboza, Purchasing Manager, who can be reached at purchasing@portagemi.gov.

2025 RFB Spring Mill & Fill
Addendum 1
Addendum No. 1 forms a part of the contract documents and changes the original documents only in the manner and to the extent stated.
QUESTIONS
Q1: The milling dimensions for Vanderbilt Ave indicate 32x1517 shows 9778 syds (should be
5394). Paving shows 32x9778 (which matches somewhat closer to the tons projected).
Will this location get partially milled and resurfaced with additional area getting an overlay or do the milling quantities need to be corrected?
A1: Yes, Milling should match paving length and width. Updated schedule C will be submitted.
Q2: Per Exhibit “A” the specifications call for any areas that require base preparation as incidental to the HMA paving per ton unit price including furnish and installation of 22A gravel (including grading). Can you add line items for 22A aggregate base, undercutting, and etc? It would be beneficial to all parties to quantify the amount of work that may be involved with replacing or adding aggregate base material.
A2: No base preparation will be required.
Q3: Do you have a projected amount of structures requiring adjustment or could you add a line item for structure adjustments since we have a tighter window to put this bid package together?
A3: There are no anticipated structure adjustments. There are approximately 64 sewer manholes and 2 water valves throughout this project.
All other terms, conditions, and specifications remain unchanged.
Bids remain due by 3:00 p.m., June 18, 2025, 2025.
