About this file
This is Addendum 02 and the associated Bid Proposal Form for a chiller replacement project issued by the Lansing School District in Michigan, with engineering services provided by Matrix Consulting Engineers. The project involves the replacement of the chilled water system at Gardner Elementary School in Lansing, Michigan. A pre-bid conference was held with an attendance sign-in sheet provided in the addendum. Proposals are due no later than 2:00 PM on June 4, 2026, and should be submitted to the Lansing School District Purchasing Department at 519 W Kalamazoo Street, Lansing, Michigan 48933. Work is to commence within ten consecutive calendar days after notice of contract award, with substantial completion required by January 1, 2027. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of all addenda on the proposal form and submit one original and two copies in a sealed envelope clearly marked as SO-1858 Gardner Elementary Chiller Replacement.
The base bid cost breakdown requires contractors to provide separate line-item pricing for general trades, mechanical, electrical, and controls work. An allowance of $80,000 is included for use according to Owner's written instructions, which covers material costs, receiving, handling, installation, and contractor overhead and profit. Contractors must also specify fees for handling additional work performed by subcontractors and for additional work performed by other entities. The project is not subject to prevailing wage requirements. Key clarifications addressed in the addendum include confirmation that exterior piping shall be insulated and jacketed rather than painted, condenser water piping uses water rather than propylene glycol, and only the bid sheet and bid bond are due with the initial proposal, with supplier and vendor application forms to be submitted later as startup submittals if the bid is awarded.
