2033 Copper Cabling FAQs

Q: What is the best way to determine the distances involved in these runs?

A: See the provided diagram detailing office location and distances for this part of Bldg 4.

Q: Are there existing cable trays and wall conduits?

A: There should be cable trays in place in each of the hallways. The only known exception is the hallway space between closet 2033 and office space 2002 and between #1046 and #1002 downstairs. Other than those hallways, the new runs should be able to use existing cable trays. Any new cable trays or paths can be proposed if it provides better value for the government. All cable runs should be able to use existing wall conduits in each office.

Q: Will an 8ft ladder be sufficient to reach all ceiling cable trays?

A: Yes, an 8ft ladder should be sufficient for all of these runs. There should be no need for any sort of scissor lifts.

Q: How will the first floor runs access the second floor telco closet?

A: There are existing conduits connecting the first floor telco closet #1046 with the upstairs closet #2033.
