Fire Alarm (NFPA 72)
1.Visually inspect all alarm equipment for obstructions or physical damage, clean dirt and dust from interior and exterior of panel/pull boxes, tighten loose connectionsXX

3.Notify fire department/coordinate testing with alarm shop (when applicable)

6. Foam Proportioning Systems - Conduct full flow test to ensure proper system function. (Test may be done through a test connection or through foam generators. Only discharge until full foam flow appears from each generator; then end foam injection.)X

Fire Pumps (NFPA 25)
1. Ensure all valves relating to water system are in correct positionXX

3. CONTROL PANELS: check controller panel for each pump forXX
proper operation IAW standard procedures for the type of panel installed
replace burned out bulbs and fuses; make other repairs as needed.
4. Check wiring for loose connections and fraying; tighten or replace.X
5. Diesel engines Blds 3173 and 3182:
A) check battery terminals for corrosion; clean if neededX
B) check belts for tension and wear; adjust or replace if needed.X
C) check electrical wiring, connections, switches, etc.; adjust as neededX
D) perform 10 min pump check for proper operation and adjust as req.X
piping, seals, packing glands, etc.
E) check pump operations; vibration, noise, overheating, etc.X

Dry Chemical/Ansul (NFPA 17)
1. Check nozzles, heads, and fusible links or heat detectors to ensureX
that they are clean, have adequate clearance from obstructions and
have not been damaged.
2. Check hand hose lines, if applicable, to ensure that they are clear, inX
proper position and in good condition.
3. Check to ensure that all operating controls are properly set.X
4. Observe pressure on system to ensure that sufficient gas is available.X
5. Check expellant gas cylinders of gas cartridge systems for properX
pressure or weight to ensure that sufficient gas is available.
6. Test all actuating and operating devices; turn valve on dry chemicalX
bottle or cylinder to off position IAW manufacturers specs, and test
operation of control head by removing fusible link, activating heat
detectors or pulling test control. Restore system to normal operations.
7. Open and check dry chemical in cylinder and stored pressure systemsX
to ensure it is free flowing and without lumps.
8. When an alarm system is reactivated, ensure that it functions IAWX
manufacturers specifications.
9.Check dry chemical containers, auxiliary containers, and hose assemblies for hydrostatic date (date stamp must be within 12 years), if within one year of expiration notify and provide quote to COR for hydrostatic testing.X
Carbon Dioxide (NFPA 12)
1. Check and test the carbon dioxide system for operation.X
2. Check that there have been no changes to the size, type, and configuration of the hazard systemX
3. Check and test all time delays for operationX
4. Check and test all audible alarms for operationX
5. Check and test all visible signals for operationX
6. Check that all warning signs are installedX
7. Check to ensure that the procedures are appropriate and alarms are operable.X

Portable Fire Extinguishers (NFPA 10)
1. Ensure that the extinguisher is the proper size and type for the hazard presentX
2. Ensure that the extinguisher is located in its designated locationX
3. Ensure that the hangar is properly secured and that the extinguisher is hung and not resting on the floorX
4. Ensure that there are no obstructions to limit the extinguisher’s access or visibilityX
5. Ensure that the operating instructions on the nameplate are legible and facing outwardX
6. Check and replace the safety seals and tamper indicatorsX
7. Determine the fullness of the extinguisher by weighing itX
8. Fluff dry chemical extinguishers with a rubber malletX
9. Examine the extinguisher for obvious physical damage to the shell or any component, corrosion, leakage, or clogged nozzleX
10. Ensure the pressure gauge indicates that the extinguisher is within operating rangeX
12. Ensure the Hazardous Material Identification System (HMIS) label is in placeX
13. Perform a conductivity test of all carbon dioxide fire extinguishersX
14. Check hydrostatic testing of carbon dioxide, wet chemical, dry chemical, foam, and portable fire extinguishersX
15. Check hydrostatic testing of all cartridges associated with portable fire extinguishersX
16. Check hydrostatic testing of all dry chemical hose equipped units with a shut off valveX
17. Attach and inspection stickers to all portable fire extinguishers. Stickers shall be designed to stay onX
18. Notify COR of any extinguishers that are non-compliant for hydrostatic testing or are in need of replacement due to physical damageX
19. Stored pressure fire extinguishers that require a 12-year hydrostatic test must be empied and proper maintenance precedures performed in accordance with 6-year maintenance requirementsX
