Approximate Fencing Distance: Refer to maps for locations: Total estimated fencing distance 2,691 feet, with installation of 2 cattle guards.

Location of Work Site as Shown on Work Location Maps: Project is in Churchill County, Nevada.

Type of fencing material to be Supplied by the Government: Post and rail fence material.

Location of fencing material to be Supplied by the Government: Carson City District Office 5665

Morgan Mill Road, Carson City, Nevada, 89701 Contractor to pick up and deliver to project location.

Type of Cattle Guard: 8’ x 12’ heavy duty U80 rated. With wings and cement base.

Other Requirements: Due to the terrain, experienced contractors may be needed.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION for WELDED STEEL CATTLEGUARDS, FOUNDATIONS and WINGS

The following shall provide additional information not covered in the attached drawings or on the bid solicitation. However, when combined, the bid solicitation, drawings and this information sheet provides the requirements of the Government.

Note: Use caution when reviewing drawing. Each drawing contains details not pertinent to this solicitation.

WELDED STEEL CATTLEGUARD GRIDS

1. Provide cattleguard grids. See attached Standard Detail Drawing No. 02879-1

2. Only new material shall be used in the fabrication of cattleguard grids.

3. Torque Bars are required on cattleguard grid rails fabricated with cold-formed structural steel tubing (Alternate Rails). Do not weld torque bars on cattleguard grid rails fabricated with “A” Style cap rails.

4. Paint: The prime coat shall be a lead free, zinc-rich, rust-inhibitive alkyd metal primer. The finish coat shall be an oil alkyd-enamel, gloss paint. Color shall be Federal Safety Yellow or match color no. 13655, Fed. Spec. TT-C-595.

WELDED STEEL CATTLEGUARD WINGS

1. Provide Angle-Iron End Wing as designed on Standard Detail Drawing No. 02879-4, Cattleguard Wings.

2. Only new material shall be used in the fabrication of cattleguard wings.

3. Ensure cattleguard wing mates to the cattleguard grid without field modifications. Fasteners are not required in this solicitation.

4. Paint: The prime coat shall be a lead free, zinc-rich, rust-inhibitive alkyd metal primer. The finish coat shall be an oil alkyd-enamel, gloss paint. Color shall be Federal Safety Yellow or match color no. 13655, Fed. Spec. TT-C-595.

PRECAST CONCRETE CATTLEGUARD FOUNDATIONS

1. Ready-Mixed Concrete: Ready-mixed concrete shall be designed to meet a minimum of a 28-day compressive strength of 3,000 psi; a minimum of 6 sacks of cement per cubic yard; and, a maximum slump of 4-inches.

2. Reinforcement Steel: Use the size and quantity as indicated on the drawings. However, the length shall extend to within 3 inches of each end. The steel reinforcement assembly shall be 100 percent tied or welded. All reinforcement steel shall be free of rust, grease or other

Attachment 2 contaminates. Reinforcement steel supports shall be sized, arranged and tied to prevent movement. Reinforcement assembly shall maintain a 3-inch distance from all edges.

3. Concrete Placement: Concrete shall be adequately vibrated into place to fill voids.

4. Concrete Surface Finishes: The top surface of the concrete shall be given a magnesium-float finish after screeding, followed by steel troweling and finished with a broom texture.

5. Concrete Curing: Formwork may be removed after 24 hours. Keep concrete moist for the first

48 hours. Allow concrete to cure for a minimum of 7 days.

6. Handling and Transportation: Foundations shall not be transported until concrete compressive strength has reached a minimum of 70% of design strength. Protect foundations from load stresses, shock load and excessive vibration.

7. Before acceptance by the Government, concrete shall be free of cracks, chipped edges, and honeycombs.
