Statement of Work DEVA Sewage Lift Stations Preventive Maintenance
PMIS #309196
Death Valley National Park May 13th, 2020
Part 1: Scope/Background/Objective
1.1 Scope of Work
Perform semi-annual and annual preventative maintenance and minor upgrades on (4) sewage lift stations in Death Valley National Park. Work performed by contract.
1.2 Background
Park staff and visitors depend on functioning sewage pumping lift stations to provide a safe working and visiting environment. There are (3) lift stations in the Cow Creek area that serve Park staff and (1) lift station at the Furnace Creek Campground that serves Park visitors. All (4) lift stations pump sewage into the Death Valley sewage collection system that terminates at the sewage treatment lagoons at Furnace Creek.
Summer daytime temperatures can reach 125° F while overnight temperatures often remain above 100° F. Sewage pumping system equipment and infrastructure are subject to accelerated degradation due to these extreme summertime temperatures. Therefore, a lift station preventative cyclic maintenance program is paramount in preventing interruption of service.
1.3 Objective
Ensure a safe working, living, and visiting environment for Park staff and Park visitors by performing annual preventive maintenance to the Death Valley sewage pumping lift stations.
