STATEMENT OF WORK

CryoCycle II Cryostat Diagnosis and Repair (1076-1700)

1. Background. Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility uses

Cryocycle II cryostats to maintain High Purity Germanium (HPGE) detectors at the proper operation temperatures in order to support sample and item analyses for radioactivity. The Cryocycle II cryostats recycle liquid nitrogen reducing the need to refill the cryostats to once every 1-2 years instead of twice a week if not working correctly. When the Cryocycle II cryostat are not functioning properly, the units must be returned for diagnosis and repair.

This diagnosis and repair can only be performed by the manufacturer hence the requirement for contractual support.

2. Scope. Contractor will provide diagnosis and repair (CRYOSERV-II) of six Cryocycle II cryostats including replacing parts as necessary including SERVICE PARTS COOLERS (7082958C) to bring them up to manufacturer’s optimum operating parameters.

3. Objective. To return 6 CryoCycle II Cryostats (S/Ns 13001255, 13000144, 13001380, 13001003, 13001382, and 13001028) to their optimum manufacturer’s operating parameters.

4. Tasks.

4.1. CryoCycle II Cryostat (CRYOSERV-CCII) Diagnosis and Repair:

4.1.1. Diagnosis

4.1.2. Repair (as required);

4.2. Replacement of Cooler (SERVICE PARTS COOLERS 7082958C), as necessary.

5. Delivery. Contractor shall return 6 fully functional (i.e. performing at OEM optimum operating parameters) furnished qty 6 ea CryoCycle II Cryostats (S/Ns 13001255, 13000144, 13001380, 13001003, 13001382, and 13001028) to following address after completion of tasks described above:

Government-furnished property. Government will ship 6 ea CryoCycle II Cryostats (S/Ns 13001255, 13000144, 13001380, 13001003, 13001382, and 13001028) to manufacturer. The cryostats are currently located at Bldg, 1274 Code 105.55 Environmental Lab, once contract is in place, contact David Olson to ship detector to vendor.

6. Security Requirement. UNCLASSIFIED
