About this file
This document contains an amendment to a solicitation for the Crow Transfer Station Improvements project. The amendment extends the proposal due date to September 27, 2022 at 2:00PM PDT and includes answers to questions from prospective offerors. The Indian Health Service Division of Engineering Services in Seattle, Washington issued the solicitation seeking proposals for renovations to Crow Tribe waste transfer stations with an estimated budget between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The performance period for the contract is 150 calendar days from the issuance of the notice to proceed. The amendment clarifies that similar barrier materials meeting specifications can be substituted in proposals and that the Crow Tribe will remove existing trash from the sites prior to construction.

Crow Transfer Station
Item # Section and Page # Question Response
1 Contractors are having an extremely hard time locating the specified Jersey Barriers you are looking for. Can a similar barrier that meets the specifications be subbed?
A similar barrier that is capable of the same performance is fine, as substitutions will be handled during submittals. The barriers mentioned in the specifications/plans is to illustrate the use/performance we require and the brand name is for reference, so of equal is allowed.
2 Upon visiting the sites we noticed a significant amount of trash that will impede our construction activities.
What would you have us do with the garbage that is in our way?
The trash will be removed by the Crow Tribe prior to construction. We will need to coordinate with the Tribe to ensure they can get each site cleaned prior to the contractor taking control of the site.
3 Do you anticipate a winter shutdown period? Yes, we will most likely have a winter shutdown for this project.
