ATTACHMENT I - STATEMENT OF WORK
I. Objective
The goal of the project is to allow for the automatic transfer of baggage from the CBIS to the Cargo area. This will alleviate the requirement to manually transport baggage throughout the TSIF when testing alternative technologies for checked baggage such as Mobile Inspection Tables and modified CBRA processes as well as temporary EDS installation for testing.
II. Description of Work
The contractor shall modify existing CBIS conveyors to install equipment and conveyors to facilitate transporting of baggage from the CBIS to the Checkpoint (C2C) equipment testing area (Cargo Area).
Figure 1: CBIS/Cargo Transfer Line Overview
The use of elevators referred to as “Vertical Lift Units” or VLUs, and stacked conveyors will be used to transfer baggage to and from the CBIS and Cargo areas.
This will be accomplished by:
• Modifying conveyors at ETDCL-02 and 03 and installing a VLU-01 and associated feed conveyor (see Figure 2 and 3 for example) for transferring baggage to the Cargo area.
• Installation of a second VLU-02 in the cargo area.
Page 2 Document: TSIF_CBIS_Cargo_TranferLine
• Installation of a pair stacked conveyor (2) for moving baggage between the Cargo area to CBIS and from CBIS to Cargo.
• Double stacked in and out (at Bottom of lift) in the cargo lift. (See figure 2 below).
Figure 2: Double stacked conveyors on cargo lift
III. Additional detail for equipment:
• Install new ControlLogix PLC and communications modules into exiting PLC5 rack located in the CBIS control room. (Firmware v32).
• Demo 20 ft. of existing conveyor @ EDTCL-02 and ETDCL-03.
• Install VLU-01 at ETDCL-02 and -03 and VLU-02 the Cargo area.
o Note: Nerak vertical lift units shall be used for the design purposes.
Alternatives may be provided if the units have been commissioned at any given US Cat-X airport for five or more years. (References must be supplied).
• Modify ETDCL-02 and 03.
• Install Approximately 200ft (double stacked 100ea.) of tracked Conveyor from VL1
(C1C) line to the VL2 (C2C) line in the Cargo area.
• Install two 5 ft. queues at the infeed of the transfer line on VL1 and VL2.
• Install two 5 to 10 ft. conveyor section on the infeed and discharge of VL2 lift for loading and unloading in cargo.
• Install four power turns.
• Install 120 ft. of catwalk with ladders at each end from the CBIS to the Cargo area.
o Smaller platforms and ladders may be an option.
• Install one PDP with I/O for new C1C and C2C from the CBIS to the Cargo conveyors and back.
• Install one Stanchion mounted Remote HMI touch screen in the Cargo area.
