Questions Submitted for Century Station Air Cooled Chiller Replacement 47PE0620R0016
1. Do you have any photos of the chillers and the area around it? No photos are available, the site visit will allow bidders to view the chiller and its surrounding area.
2. Also can we get the brand, model number and serial number of the existing unit? A photos of the manufacturers plate will work as well. No photos are available; the site visit will allow bidders to view the chiller and its surrounding area and brand information.
3.It is our understanding that there are no existing building management controls that turn on chillers and chill water pump. Basically each is turned on manually - therefore the new chiller replacement project will have no control scope of work included in pricing. Please confirm. Sections 20-27 outline the starting and stopping of the chiller and pump.
4.Are taxes to be included in the bid, or are they excluded and billed separately? Yes taxes are to be included in the Fixed Price Submission on the 1442.
5. Is there a bid bond or performance/payment bonds required? Yes Performance Bonds are required in accordance with the Solicitation requirements.
6. Will the Davis-Bacon Act requirements be in force for this project? Yes davis bacon is required in accordance with the applicable County for this project. The Davis Bacon wage determination is included in the solicitation package.
7.We noticed that the existing cooling tower was installed after the existing chiller was installed. The condensing water return pipe was installed improperly in relation to the chiller. The pipe is directly in front of the right side of the chiller (see attached photo). It does not impede or prevent the chiller being replaced, but the new chiller manufacturer will have a problem with servicing their machine due to lack of access to remove the machine covers. We can quote the chiller replacement but this will be an issue that can be handled separately or we can include moving this pipe in our pricing. Please give guidance on how to proceed in light of this issue. The updated statement of work dated 5/26/2020 outlines the requiremens for the return pipe beginning in section 32.2.4 and ends on 32.2.4.2.
