Construction for James M. Hanley Federal Building Repair Transformer Vaults Questions and Answers Wednesday, August 2, 2018

Question 1.

As per a discussion with the contact at National Grid, we have been informed that National Grid will not provide pricing for this project. Please confirm that the costs associated with the National Grid work will be assumed by the Owner, or alternatively, the Owner will incorporate an Allowance to cover all work by National Grid in the proposed agreement.

a. PLEASE PROPOSE $75,000 (plus applicable markups) for all electrical work to be performed by National Grid. After award, the contractor must provide the National Grid invoice to the CO, and any adjustments (if needed) will be made in a modification to the contract.

Question 2.

Upper curb 1/C-103 to be removed and replaced: Please confirm this curb is not owned by the City of Syracuse, therefore not requiring a Curb Cut Permit.

a. Upper curb is understood to be GSA property (per site survey property line).

Question 3.

Please advise ownership of (2) light poles A/C-102 to be removed and replaced: will reinstallation require labor or supervision from City of Syracuse?

a. It is understood that these are City of Syracuse owned. Reinstallation should be coordinated with City of Syracuse.

Question 4.

Considering that the sidewalk section where the light poles are to be removed will be closed;

will night lighting be required?

a. Refer to Note 5.B of the Utility Notes on drawing G-002 regarding temporary night lighting requirements. This is at the discretion of the City of Syracuse.

Question 5.

Parking along the westbound lane of Washington St. is marked for use by various Federal agencies and departments and not metered. Please confirm that these parking spaces are not subject to a City of Syracuse Parking Meter Rental Permit.

a. It is understood that these spaces would not apply to the “City of Syracuse Parking Meter Rental Permit”
