RESPONSE TO RFI #1 (ELECTRICAL CLARIFICATION)

Date: 6/25/2018

Project: Muskie Cooling Tower Project

Solicitation No: 47PB0418R0018

RFI question concerning Electrical:

Question from Electrical Contractor:

1. The scope of the project looks like we are demoing the feed to the existing Chiller and hooking up the new chiller. I want to confirm what the new feed is to the new chiller to see if we need to run a new circuit, and if a new circuit is needed what is the run length, is the ceiling drop or hard, and what type of panel is the new feed coming from so we know if we need and new breaker or not.

Response:

A. As stated in the scope and during on-site visits, the scope covers the replacement of the 30 amp fused disconnect plus approximately 30 linear feet of conduit to the new motor. The wiring from the motor control center and variable speed drive is believed to be in great shape. Also stated on-site, if that wiring from inside the building from these devices turns out to be deteriorated, we will approach that once it is discovered by a change order.

On page one of the Summary of Work, the original submittal data the existing unit has one 7.5 HP fan motor suitable for 480/3, the replacement unit has one

7.5 HP fan motor suitable for 460/3, Inverter duty.
